In a delightful development for cricket fans in Kolkata, the Raj Bhavan is set to welcome the public to its premises to witness the upcoming World Cup Cricket Match. On Sunday, November 5, from 12 noon to 2 pm, the Raj Bhavan will host approximately 500 cricket enthusiasts on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans will have the opportunity to watch the entire India vs South Africa match on the lush lawns of the Raj Bhavan.
This thoughtful initiative by the Honorable Governor of West Bengal, Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, arose in response to cricket fans' concerns about the unavailability of affordable tickets for the World Cup. Consequently, he directed the opening of the Janata Cricket Stadium at the Raj Bhavan, providing the public with an opportunity to enjoy the game on giant screens.
Cricket enthusiasts interested in attending the match at the Janata Stadium can apply for entry by emailing their details to [email protected]. To gain admission, it is mandatory to include government-issued identification, such as Aadhaar or a driving license, in the email. The same identification must be carried for entry.
As the cricket fervor sweeps through Kolkata, the Janata Stadium at Raj Bhavan stands as a testament to the people's passion for the sport and their accessibility to this thrilling World Cup event.
